On May 10-11 this year, the World Bank held a training seminar for the staff of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the framework of technical assistance in the field of banking supervision and regulation.
Experts of the World Bank, represented by David Babayan and Ismael Ahmad Fontaine, conducted a training to support the Central Bank in creating an effective system of supervision of credit institutions in accordance with international best practices. During the seminar, the participants discussed the draft guidelines on risk-based supervision, which was developed taking into account the experience of advanced countries in this area and in the methodology of regulation of banks. Experts provided recommendations for assessing the business model of banks and credit risk assessment.
At the end of the training seminar, the participants discussed the next steps for conducting pilot testing of a number of commercial banks.
