In accordance with the regulation “On the Procedure for Determining Systemically Important Banks” (Decision No. 4/13 dated February 18, 2023), the Central Bank of Uzbekistan has designated domestic systemically important banks (D-SIBs) for 2025. As of October 1, 2024, D-SIBs accounted for 67 percent of the total assets in Uzbekistan’s banking system.
Key criteria for identifying D-SIBs include:
- Size
- Interconnectedness
- Substitutability
- Complexity
Following a thorough assessment, the Banking Supervision Committee has designated the following banks as systemically important for 2025:
- JSC “NBU”
- JSCB “Agrobank”
- JSCB “Uzsanoatqurilishbank”
- JSC “Xalq banki”
- JSCMB “Ipoteka-bank”
- JSCB “Kapitalbank”
- JSC “Asakabank”
D-SIBs will be subject to enhanced supervision. The solvency of systemically important banks is crucial for strengthening the stability of both the financial system and the broader economy.
