The Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in accordance with the proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, appointed Timur Amindzhanovich Ishmetov to the position of Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
T. Ishmetov was born in Tashkent in 1979. He graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute in 2000, the Tashkent State Law Institute in 2005, and the University of Birmingham in Great Britain in 2008.
During his career, Timur Amindzhanovich held various leadership positions at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Investment Committee, and the Ministry of Finance. In 2020–2022, he served as the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 2022 to the present, he has been working as the First Deputy Advisor to the President on the Development of Economic Sectors, Implementation of Investment and Foreign Trade Policy.
