The Central Bank of Uzbekistan had the honor of receiving a delegation from the Swiss National Bank. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Swiss National Bank, Martin Schlegel.
As part of the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between Martin Schlegel, Chairman of the Swiss National Bank, and Timur Ishmetov, Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, the heads of the banks discussed opportunities for cooperation in ensuring financial stability, developing monetary policy, and strengthening analytical capabilities.
In addition, Martin Schlegel delivered a lecture for young specialists of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan and representatives of higher education institutions on the topic:“The Swiss National Bank – Mandates, Current Issues, and the Approach to Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).”
After the lecture, participants exchanged views on the SNB’s CBDC policy, its impact on the Swiss banking system, the foundations of monetary policy, and approaches to maintaining financial stability.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairmen of the Central Bank Abror Mirzo Olimov, Nodir Achilov, and Director General for Financial Inclusion Dilbar Abduganieva.
