The International Monetary Fund Article IV Consultation Mission Begins in Uzbekistan

On March 26, 2026, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission began consultations with the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other key institutions. The mission will continue until April 9, 2026.

As part of the mission, IMF representatives held meetings with the Governor, Deputy Governors, and senior staff of the Central Bank. The discussions focused on recent economic developments, inflation dynamics, the macroeconomic outlook, and the implementation of monetary and exchange rate policies.

The parties also exchanged views on ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening the banking and financial system, including progress in prudential supervision, implementation of Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) recommendations, and the Safeguards Assessment process.

These consultations are part of the IMF’s regular engagement with member countries to assess economic developments and discuss policy priorities that support sustainable and resilient economic growth.
