The Central Bank will issue special commemorative coins to mark the participation of the Uzbekistan national football team in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The qualification of the Uzbekistan national team for the World Cup for the first time in history has become one of the most significant events in the country’s sporting history. To commemorate this historic achievement, commemorative coins have been minted in 999.9 fine gold and silver.
The obverse of the coins features the logo of the Uzbekistan Football Association, an image of a classic football, and the inscription: “Historic Victory. Uzbekistan Football at the World Cup – 2026.” These elements symbolically reflect the national team’s first-ever qualification for the World Cup and the opening of a new chapter in the history of Uzbek football.
The design of the coins also incorporates the symbol of the national team, widely known among fans as the “White Wolves”. The wolf silhouette on the reverse represents the courage, team spirit, and unyielding character of our footballers. This symbol embodies the silhouettes of 26 players, signifying that this historic achievement was secured through the unity and hard work of the entire team.
In addition, the patterns featured in the coin design, inspired by the ornaments on the walls of our ancient monuments and reflected in the national team’s kit, represent our glorious history and rich cultural heritage. This artistic concept unites football, national pride, and ancestral legacy within a single composition.
A total of 100 gold coins and 1,000 silver coins, each weighing 31.1 grams, have been produced in limited quantities and strong artistic and collectible appeal.
Starting June 18, 2026 the commemorative coins will be available at 690 branches of commercial banks.
Updated information on sales prices and availability at banks will be published daily on the official website of the Central Bank and its social media pages.
