The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of the international financial institution Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).
The discussions focused on the potential introduction of new financial institutions in Uzbekistan, including hedging companies and specialized investment funds, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the domestic financial ecosystem.
The parties exchanged views on international best practices in the establishment and governance of such institutions, regulatory approaches, and mechanisms for attracting capital to support their sustainable development.
The parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation through capacity-building initiatives, including training, joint workshops, and knowledge exchange programs for Central Bank staff on the establishment, management, and regulation of hedging companies and alternative investment vehicles.
