The Central Bank of Uzbekistan held the final meeting of the International Monetary Fund’s Central Bank Transparency Code Review mission, during which the mission team presented its main findings and recommendations.
The mission included meetings with the Central Bank’s senior management and staff, as well as a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholders noted that the Central Bank's transparency and communication practices have improved significantly, describing the institution as a national leader in this area. They highlighted its credibility, the consistency between its communications and actions, and the establishment of effective two-way communication with the public.
The mission positively assessed the Central Bank's active engagement with stakeholders through various instruments and communication channels, including regional events. It was also noted that decision-making processes have become more transparent, drawing on monetary policy frameworks and forecasts.
Alongside these strengths, the mission identified areas where transparency practices could be further improved and presented corresponding recommendations. The Central Bank will review these recommendations and implement measures aimed at further strengthening its transparency practices.
