During the meeting, Central Bank Deputy Governor Nodirbek Achilov, heads of the Bank's relevant departments, and Clearstream Associate Vice President Austin Martin exchanged views on the development of capital market infrastructure, expanding international cooperation in the securities market, and prospects for establishing connectivity between depository systems.
In the course of the meeting, a number of issues were reviewed related to strengthening cooperation between the Clearstream international depository system and Uzbekistan's securities market infrastructure, particularly focusing on the development of capital market infrastructure, expanding foreign investors’ access to the secondary market for government securities, improving clearing and settlement mechanisms, and enhancing the management of international assets.
The parties also exchanged views on currency conversion and fund repatriation procedures, cooperation with primary dealers, and expanding the participation of foreign investors in Uzbekistan's financial market.
The parties emphasized the importance of further examining existing technical and regulatory matters in this area, analyzing international experience, and consistently continuing dialogue with the involvement of foreign experts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen strategic cooperation and maintain regular dialogue on mutually beneficial areas of partnership.
