As part of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, a meeting was held at the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan with representatives of Azerbaijan’s ABB Bank. ABB Bank was represented at the meeting by Abbas Ibragimov, Chairman of the Management Board, and Deputy Chairmen of the Management Board Taleh Tahirli and Agshin Amirov. The Central Bank was represented by officials from the relevant departments, led by Sanjar Nosirov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank.
During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s financial and banking sector, the reforms being implemented in the banking system, the directions of prudential supervision and regulation, as well as issues relating to the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises. Representatives of ABB Bank provided information on their banking experience, particularly in the areas of financing small and medium-sized enterprises, microfinance, digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions.
The meeting also covered plans for AVV Bank to acquire a 51 per cent stake in Davr Bank’s share capital and the prospects for the bank’s further development. Representatives of AVV Bank expressed their intention to develop Davr Bank using modern technologies and best banking practices, and to transform it into one of the leading financial institutions in the country’s banking market.
The parties expressed their willingness to continue constructive dialogue and practical cooperation in the future.
