Tashkent, July 16, 2026 – The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an opening meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation to launch the IMF Mission on the Central Bank Transparency Code (CBT) Review.
The mission will assess the Central Bank's transparency practices across its key functions, including governance, monetary policy, financial stability, banking supervision, communications, and financial reporting. The review will comprise an assessment of publicly available information, meetings with relevant departments, and consultations with external stakeholders.
During the meeting, participants discussed the mission's objectives, scope, and priority areas for further strengthening transparency. The IMF delegation noted positive feedback from external stakeholders regarding the Central Bank's transparency, institutional credibility, and consistency of its communications.
The mission will continue through meetings with the Central Bank's departments, external stakeholders, and partner institutions. Its recommendations are expected to support the further enhancement of the Central Bank's transparency framework in line with international best practices.
