The leadership of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Uzbekistan, Timothy Smart.
During the meeting, the Central Bank leadership highlighted the results of reforms carried out in the banking sector over the past years, as well as initiatives aimed at further developing the financial sector, improving the accessibility of banking services for the population, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
The meeting also covered potential areas for expanding cooperation with financial institutions in the United Kingdom, such as consumer protection in banking services, improving financial literacy, developing the microfinance sector, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
Both sides expressed their readiness to establish cooperation in staff training and strengthening research capacity.
