The leadership of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation, headed by the Regional Director for Central Asia and Turkey, Vibke Schloemer.
During the discussion, the parties addressed issues related to expanding mutual cooperation focused on further developing the financial sector, including both the banking and non-banking sectors, as well as infrastructure development and increasing the accessibility of financial services for all categories of small and medium-sized businesses. Special attention was given to supporting the development of factoring projects, attracting new players to the microfinance and hedging markets.
The parties also emphasized the need for regular interaction between the regulator, other relevant agencies, market participants, and international partners.
