The Central Bank hosted an event dedicated to the theme “Promoting Gender Equality in the Banking and Financial Sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan.” The event was attended by heads of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of commercial banks, as well as officials responsible for gender policy from international financial institutions and foreign central banks.
During the event, it was noted that the adoption of the “Policy on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men,” developed by the Central Bank, is a key document aimed at promoting equal rights and opportunities in the country’s banking and financial system. It was emphasized that cooperation with government bodies is of vital importance in implementing this policy.
Experts at the event also held in-depth discussions on issues such as ensuring gender equality in the country, expanding economic opportunities for women, strengthening gender inclusiveness, and supporting leading international practices in the sector.
