Delegation of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan took part in the annual Global Policy Forum of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI GPF 2025)

A delegation from the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the annual Global Policy Forum of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI GPF 2025), which took place from September 2–5, 2025, in Swakopmund, Namibia. The forum, held under the theme “Empowering Society, Enabling Growth”, highlighted the pivotal role of financial inclusion as a critical tool for ensuring sustainable economic development and financial stability.

During the forum, representatives of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan actively participated in meetings of the AFI Gender Inclusive Finance Committee, as well as in the work of 7 working groups covering financial inclusion policy and data, the development of digital financial services, equal application of international standards, consumer empowerment and financial literacy, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the promotion of inclusive green finance. The delegation members presented the experience of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan in supporting women’s entrepreneurship, expanding access to finance for small and medium-sized businesses, and implementing financial literacy initiatives.

Furthermore, a meeting of the Eastern Europe & Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI) was held under the chairmanship of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. The session promoted “The ECAPI Declaration on Inclusive Green Finance”, which is designed to foster regional cooperation and introduce innovative green finance instruments.

Note: ECAPI countries and organizations are: the Central Bank of Armenia, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan (associate member), the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, the National Bank of Tajikistan, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
