The 20th International Shari’ah Scholars Forum, held under the theme “Implementation of Islamic Banking: Advancing Towards a Sustainable Financial System”, brought together leading commercial banks from Uzbekistan and abroad, prestigious financial institutions, as well as globally recognized scholars, experts, specialists, and regulators in Islamic economics and finance.
On the first day of this prestigious forum, discussions focused on the classification of contracts, their application in modern practice, and the importance of structuring them on the basis of transparent and unified criteria. International experts emphasized that these processes are crucial for strengthening client trust and advancing the development of Islamic finance.
It is noteworthy that, within the framework of the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with INCEIF to foster cooperation in areas such as organizing training programs, courses, and seminars at the Central Bank, as well as conducting joint research in Islamic finance. Under this memorandum, it was also agreed to translate four books on Islamic finance into Uzbek and make them available to users.
The forum will continue its work on September 18, featuring discussions on new directions and pressing issues in Islamic finance.
