The leadership of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with members of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Mr. Yasser Abdih, accompanied by mission experts Mr. Koba Gvenetadze, Mr. Etibar Jafarov, Mr. Alejandro Simone, and Ms. Galina Kostina
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current macroeconomic environment in Uzbekistan, the ongoing monetary policy measures, as well as the current state and key indicators of the banking system. The discussion also covered prospects for enhancing cooperation with the IMF, including avenues for technical assistance and expert consultation.
As part of the mission’s agenda, additional meetings with the Deputy Chairpersons and the relevant departments of the Central Bank are planned to continue the discussions across key areas in greater detail.
Further engagements with various ministries, government agencies, and representatives of commercial banks are also scheduled within the framework of the IMF mission.
