On 20 January 2026, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized an international seminar on the results of the joint research conducted under the Knowledge Partnership Program (KPP) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Korea on the topic “Balance of Payments Dynamics in Uzbekistan: A Comprehensive Analysis of Fundamental Determinants, Risk, and Policy Responses”.
The seminar was aimed at presenting the final conclusions of the joint research, including an in-depth analysis of the balance of payments situation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, identification of fundamental factors influencing its dynamics using advanced international models, as well as the assessment of external economic risks and the introduction or improvement of mechanisms for their prevention.
Representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Central Bank of the Republic of Korea, as well as leading higher education institutions of the Republic of Korea—Hongik University and Dongguk University—took part in the event.
Within the framework of the seminar, international experts delivered presentations on balance of payments analysis, identification and assessment of macroeconomic risks, as well as effective policy and institutional approaches based on international experience. These discussions contribute to enhancing the analytical capacity of the Central Bank’s specialists, deepening scientific and practical knowledge, and adapting international experience to national conditions.
The event was aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the Central Bank in ensuring macroeconomic stability, early identification and effective management of external economic risks, and at further developing professional and academic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
