On January 29, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, represented by Deputy Chairman Abrorkhuja Turdaliyev, held a meeting with representatives of De La Rue International Limited (UK), an organization which specializes in banknote design, production, and security technologies. The meeting focused on current global trends and the development of cash circulation in 2026.
Discussions covered global trends of the cash lifecycle, including unique banknote design and production, modern anti-counterfeiting technologies, and the impact of digital payments on cash usage. The De La Rue delegation included Damian Kwiatkowski, Global Sales Director; Deborah Smith, Head of Technical and Strategic Sales for Clients; and Zhanna Adilbekova, Regional Representative.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on international best practices in cash management and highlighted the importance of secure, high-quality banknotes alongside the evolution of digital payment systems. It also highlighted the value of international expertise in supporting the resilience and efficiency of national cash circulation systems.
