The meeting was held with representatives of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), led by Dr. Alfred Hannig, Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion. The discussion was structured around global priorities in financial inclusion and the evolving role of regulators in this agenda, alongside the key achievements of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of financial inclusion policies as an integral element of financial stability and a driver of sustainable macroeconomic development.
The dialogue further focused on the transformative role of digital technologies, fintech, and innovation in expanding access to financial services. In this context, the parties reviewed new AFI tools and methodologies that can be systematically integrated into the Central Bank’s policy and regulatory framework to enhance data-driven decision-making and implementation effectiveness. The discussion also underscored the Central Bank’s role as a member of the AFI Board of Directors and highlighted the strategic value of regional cooperation platforms in identifying common challenges and shaping coordinated policy responses.
In addition, dedicated engagements were held with AFI working group members, during which the Central Bank presented its ongoing initiatives and reform agenda in the field of financial inclusion. The parties agreed to deepen cooperation and leverage international expertise to further advance an inclusive, resilient, and innovation-oriented financial system in Uzbekistan.
