On 13 October 2026, an open dialogue with construction materials manufacturers was held in Tashkent, bringing together senior representatives of the Central Bank and commercial banks.
The discussion focused on access to financing for investment projects and ongoing business operations, as well as matters related to collateral requirements and lending terms.
According to data presented during the dialogue, output in the construction materials industry reached UZS 50 trillion in the first nine months of this year. The industry recorded exports of USD 1.1 billion and attracted USD 3 billion in investment. Export value increased by 45 percent year on year.
The discussion covered investment lending for the expansion of production capacity and the modernization of equipment, as well as financing working capital needs during seasonal sales periods. It was explained that, when assessing financing applications, banks consider an enterprise’s operating track record, revenue, production performance, and the viability of the proposed project.
Participants also raised the need for additional financing to complete ongoing investment projects, as well as the possibility of reviewing the tenors and interest rates of existing loans. It was noted that such requests should be assessed based on the project’s economic rationale, the enterprise’s existing loan obligations, and its capacity to repay the debt.
Participants were also briefed on mechanisms to help cover interest payments on loans, as well as support measures for digitalization, research and development, and innovative projects.
It was further reported that commercial banks are developing new loan products for enterprises in the construction materials industry.
