Google Pay, an international payment service, is now available in Uzbekistan. The service enables Android and Wear OS users to add supported bank cards to Google Wallet and make contactless and online payments.
Google Pay can be used for contactless payments at retail and service outlets, as well as for online payments in supported mobile applications and on websites without the need to re-enter card details.
Initially, Visa and Mastercard cards issued by Aloqabank, Ipak Yuli Bank, Kapitalbank, National Bank of Uzbekistan, Octobank, Orient Finans Bank, and TBC Bank Uzbekistan are supported on Google Pay.
In addition, Visa cards issued by Uzum Bank and Mastercard cards issued by AVO Bank are eligible for use with Google Pay.
Payments made through Google Pay use tokenization, encryption, and multi-layered security technologies to protect users’ financial information.
The introduction of Google Pay in Uzbekistan contributes to the further development of digital payment services, expands opportunities for cashless transactions, and supports the continued modernization of the country’s payment infrastructure.
Access to the service will be expanded gradually in line with the technical readiness of banks and payment systems.
