On the sidelines of the Samarkand Islamic Finance Forum, Deputy Chairmen of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sanjar Nosirov and Nodirbek Achilov, held a meeting with Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Chairman of INCEIF University of Malaysia.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of cooperation between the two institutions and discussed prospects for its further development. In particular, they took stock of the activities carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 17 September 2025 and identified priority areas for future collaboration.
The discussions focused on conducting joint academic research in Islamic finance, preparing analytical papers and feasibility studies, as well as providing advisory services on prudential and liquidity requirements for Islamic banks.
The parties also agreed to continue capacity-building programmes for Central Bank staff, including the eMIF Executive Master's programme, and to accelerate the translation of four books on Islamic finance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of making effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms, strengthening the exchange of expertise and pursuing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional capacity and further developing the Islamic finance sector.
