During the nine months of 2026, the domestic foreign exchange market remained broadly stable. Growth in export proceeds, increased foreign currency sales by individuals, and higher inflows of international money transfers supported the supply of foreign currency in the market.
During the reporting period, total demand for foreign currency from legal entities and individuals amounted to 50.4 billion USD, increasing by 17.9% compared with the corresponding period of 2025. Of this amount, legal entities purchased 39.4 billion USD, while individuals purchased 11.0 billion USD.
Foreign currency supply in the domestic foreign exchange market, excluding Central Bank operations, amounted to 43.8 billion USD, representing an increase of 25.3%, or 8.8 billion USD, compared with January–September 2025.
Export proceeds of business entities were among the key drivers of growth in foreign currency supply. Of total export proceeds, 9.5 billion USD, or 57.2%, was sold in the domestic foreign exchange market, representing an increase of 33%, or 2.4 billion USD, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
The positive balance of foreign exchange transactions by individuals also served as an additional source of supply in the market. In particular, foreign currency sales by individuals exceeded their purchases by 7.9 billion USD. International remittance inflows into the country amounted to 15.2 billion USD, increasing by 8.9% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, international money transfer outflows amounted to 2.0 billion USD, resulting in a positive net balance of 13.2 billion USD.
