On the sidelines of the Samarkand Islamic Finance Forum 2026, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sanjar Nosirov, Director General for Financial Inclusion Dilbar Abduganieva and heads of relevant departments held a meeting with Mohd Sani Mohd Ismail, Director of the Financial Sector Office of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The meeting took stock of technical assistance projects implemented by the ADB for the Central Bank in 2023–2026, covering financial inclusion, consumer protection, financial literacy and risk-based supervision of the non-bank sector.
The parties also exchanged views on potential new areas of technical support, among them the development of Islamic capital market and liquidity management instruments and the enhancement of supervision over the non-bank financial sector.
The sides expressed interest in continuing their productive cooperation.
